how the apple laptop different from others?

i will go to the university soon and i need a laptop that i will use in a dorm. i will do the internet and write some reports etc that just people usually do with their computers. but apple seems nice. so i wanna know what’s the difference. thanks.

The major difference is the operating system. Apples run on osx leopard which is a nice stable os and pcs if your buying new will run on vista. Another difference is design, apples are very nice, have smooth lines and look good. Pcs are cheaper, have more parts readily available for them and there are a ton to choose from.
