Major Brands Of Multimedia Speakers

Multimedia is that kind of media that uses multiple forms of information processing like text, audio, graphics, and animation, to inform or entertain the user. Multimedia also refers to the use of electronic media where the user or the interested buyers may experience multimedia content.

With the simple formula of demands and supply today we can find that there are various brands that sell many kinds of multimedia speakers like Altec,Bose,Lansing,Creative Labs, Cyber Acoustics, Dell, Edifier, GE, Harman Kardon, Hewlett-Packard, JBL, Klipsch, and Logitech. Altec Lancing Technologies is a manufacturer and marketer in multimedia speakers. Its greatest achievement is probably designing a line of portable speakers for the Apple iPod. This brand also supplies its products to Dell, Compaq, and Gateway. James B. Lansing built it up in May 1941. Today, Altec produces a celebrated line of audio equipment, especially loudspeaker systems. In the recent years this company re-launched its classic speaker series, famous for their sensitivity and power.

The Bose Corporation is a privately held American company that develops and manufactures audio equipment like speakers, amplifiers, and headphones to automotive sound systems. Amar.G.Bose, who was a professor of electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institutes of technology, founded it in the year 1964. The stereo speaker system titled Acoustimass 5 series III is considered as one of the breakthrough works by Bose. It has the capability to produce low frequencies for all channels with no audible distortion.

Creative Technology Limited is a manufacturer of multimedia products. The company is based in Singapore and founded by Sim Wong Hoo in 1981. This brand is the most famous for its sound blaster line of audio cards. Presently they are best known for their line of portable multimedia players. The highly popular X-Fi Sound System Z600 consists of high performing 2- way satellite speakers, each with a large driver and soft dome tweeter bringing a high audio performance. In the recent years they have been under focus because of a legal battle with AppleInc.

Logitech International is the holding company for Logitech Group that produces computer peripherals. The speaker products of this company include 2.0 and 2.1 stereophonic sound and 5.1 surround systems. Also iPod/ PSP speaker Docks and MP3 player speakers are available.

Edifier is a privately held American company that is based in Beijing, that specializes in audio equipment. It was founded in 1996 and its motto is to provide best quality sound equipment at an affordable price. This company has achieved a notable position in China both in the production and sale of audio equipment. The e series of multimedia speakers e2100, and e3100 use heavy duty power supply and high quality drivers that have the capacity to satisfy every music lover.

Harmon Kardon, based in Woodbury, USA, is a manufacturer of home and car audio equipment . With the aim of creating high fidelity audio equipment Dr. Sidney Harman and Bernard Kardon founded it in the year 1953. The first product of this company was an FM tuner. It is the main car audio supplier for BMW, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz and SAAB.

James Bullough Lansing founded JBL, owned by Harman International, in 1946. Their main products are loudspeakers and associated electronic equipment. He founded JBL after leaving Altec Lansing. He initially developed a series of loudspeaker components and systems that were mainly targeted at the home & cinema sound fields.
