ExpressCard technology is designed to provide high performance (which support faster data transfer with less power energy) and modular expansion to allow your laptop. If, for example, youâ € ™ ve bought a laptop without a FireWire port, but you see, you need FireWire to transfer video from a camcorder, you can add capabilities with FireWire Express Card Firewire.

There are two standard formats of ExpressCard modules:

1. ExpressCard 34 mm (Size: 34mm x 75mm)
2. 54mm ExpressCards (Size: 54mm x 75mm)

Both formats are 5mm thick, like the cards PCMCIA to replace.
